My work with Benedictine monasteries has spanned the creation of brand identities that honor centuries-old traditions while speaking to today’s audiences. For the Monks of Norcia, I designed the beer’s logo inspired by the cathedral’s rosetta window, along with labels, newsletters, and supporting marks such as Norcia Landing and the Brewmonks Club — all extending to a website that reflects the community’s vitality.
At the Abbey of Saint-Wandrille, France’s oldest Benedictine monastery, I translated the abbey gate’s historic coat of arms into a label for their beer, and later adapted the design language to honey-based cosmetics packaging. In each case, typography, illustration, and restraint work together to express the values of simplicity, continuity, and devotion.
