Monastero San Benedetto
The Monks of Norcia began to brew a monastic style beer in 2012 and commissioned Grayling for their brand. Respecting the values, simplicity and modesty of the monks was key in establishing a visual identity. The logo is a simplification of the cathedral's rosetta window. The typography gives a nod to tradition without looking Gothic or mawkish. The development of additional logos – Norcia Landing, and the Brewmonks Club – were designed for their US import efforts and fundraisers to build their new home after the devastating earthquakes of 2016. The modern – yet minimalist website combines the inspirational light of the monastic setting (photographs taken by Christopher McLallen) with the voice of a fresh, young monastery.
